Over the last four months I have dedicated my time to building a unique consulting practice and forming an international team who can execute small to mid-sized website projects, but also to learning the ins and outs of a online niche called “Internet Marketing”. The niche is noted for selling products that show you how to sell products. Anemic in the same sense that blogging only about blogging can be.
What I have found in Internet Marketing is a ton of marketing methods that are actually pretty smart and focused. Internet Marketing is really about developing products customers want and then providing opportunities for a potential buyer to preview the offering before the commit. Then, once the prospective buyer has previewed the offering (by any number of methods), we make the opportunity to buy a single click away.
Most non-profit organizations sell products as part of their mission and that augments the income they receive from their constituent donations. One of my clients had a unique product that focused on what God says about the economy. So we created sales page with an overview video, a buy button, an opt-in subscription form to receive daily emails about the topic, a quote by an expert, and a link to a Glenn Beck appearance made by the product creator.
The result is that we now have a mini-site that we can drive targeted traffic to that will likely click on a call to action. We’ll cover some of the Internet Marketing methods for how to drive traffic to sites in a future post, but for now check out Godonomics.com and let me know what you think about the approach.
